It took me longer to put together than it should. This is in part because I had the legs on the headboard backward, so once I took those off and put them back on correctly, it wasn't so bad. One of the side boards doesn't slide all the way down into the legs at the foot of the bed. Not sure if it's the leg or the board, but swapping the two side boards seemed to make this slightly better. I thought it was just not going in, but that's just how it sits. This is why I took off a star. It's a cheap bed frame, and details like that are, I guess, not wholly unexpected. It looks weird to me, but it's sturdy. The bottom slats were easy to put together and attach to the sides. I did manage to strip one of the center support legs, but as I hadn't connected that part of the base to the sides yet, I put that one at the head of the bed, which is the part of the bed least likely to be supporting a ton of weight. It should still support just fine, but I felt better NOT having it right under the middle of the bed. The center support legs don't touch the ground when there's nothing on the bed, but they do once a mattress is put on them. Leaving the bedspread untucked covers up any aesthetic issues with the frame, and the bed is high enough with the taller legs (it comes with two sets of legs for the foot and center supports and the headboard legs have two slots for the sides to fit) for me to put stuff under the bed. It took me a few hours to put the frame together, and wasn't particularly difficult, although I agree that the instructions are not always super clear. If you've put together other furniture, though, you should be able to figure it out. One headboard leg had a very tight fit and it was a bit of a challenge to line it up, but that's the only thing that took more physical force than I would prefer (I'm a 35 year old female of no special muscle tone).I got this for my guest room, so it doesn't get daily use, but it was used by a 200+ lb man for a little over two weeks with no issues and he never complained about it not feeling sturdy. When I've sat on the bed in there and tried to shake the bed a bit to see how the frame responded, it feels sturdy. There's been no creaking, and the headboard never even came close to banging on the wall. I think it's solid enough for regular use, and my guest room ends up looking better than my bedroom, since I still have nothing fancier than a basic metal bed frame with box spring under my mattress. I'm happy with it so far. I will have to move in the near future, and I'm not quite sure how well this thing will travel (I'm guessing the headboard and base board will be disconnected from the sides, and the center support legs will be the only thing I'm not sure how to handle, since I'd rather not unscrew them... I suppose they can be turned over if they strip and have a new hole drilled in the bottom? I kept the shorter legs just in case!)This is quite nice and very nice for the price and prime shipping. Came VERY fast all the way to remote Alaska. Looks good. Assembly took a bit of trial and error - I struggled to get the "inside" pointing parts to point inside but I got it with some patience and careful attention. I got by without a power driver but I did use a high quality hex drive tho 3 allen wrenches were included. I LOVE that spare screws, nuts etc were included - AA++ on that. I was a bit perplexed that it came with a set of shorter legs for the foot of the bed and for the center supports. The Headboard legs are drilled for some metal fittings but I couldn't figure that out and really don't need or want that anyway - no harm to the overall functioning. I've told our big 13 yr old that this is a nice bed but it won't serve as a trampoline or other abuse- to hold a mattress and sleeping person(s) it should be fine. Oh and it was slightly undersize for the full size memory foam mattress we got but with some firm encouragment, the mattress fit in.I had been looking to get a good, solid platform bed, and this does not disappoint. While I had help assembling it, it can be done by one person. There were good instructions and diagrams. Because it is solid wood, it's heavier than a rail frame. It arrived in secure packaging. The company obviously cares about customer service. There was contact information in every box. I only had difficulty in one area, and that was with some of the included hardware. The wood is very hard and dense, and the heads of the screws weren't up to the challenge. I'm glad there were several allen wrenches and extra screws, because they were definitely needed. I have been sleeping on the full size bed for a few months and am thankful for its sturdy build.I bought this bed for my child and I must say that I am very impressed with the quality, especially for the price. It's solid wood construction held together with nuts and screws to create a very sturdy bed that fully grown adults could sleep in without any worries. It comes with two sets of legs in case you are using a box spring or if you just want it lower for a smaller child to be able to climb into. The slat foundation for the mattress is very sturdy and well built so there really is no need for a box spring. The instructions were extremely easy to follow despite having multiple sets (one for each section and putting the sections together) . If you have more than one person to help assemble, it is helpful but not completely necessary if you are mechanically inclined. I was able to assemble it myself in a little under an hour.I purchased this and it is a pretty thing. I am giving it four stars because of the instructions. They are terrible. They call for two people to put it together, that is because if there are two people one can stop the other from beating it to pieces with a hammer. I did put it together by myself, I only had to stop once and take Tylenol for the headache I got working with it. If you are not good at looking at pieces and figuring how they go together do not purchase this.I love the simple lines of this bed, I love the rich shade of the wood. Yes, there is some confusion with the instructions on how to assemble it, but I'm a not-very-handy 50-something year old woman and was able to do so within a couple of hours. Like another customer, I used a small stool to keep certain parts raised while I worked. The only issue I had was that one hole was misaligned, which made it impossible to assemble the headboard. I emailed the company. Two days later they replied saying they were looking into the issue (yes, you need to give them 48 hours to respond). Three days later all the parts (wood plus findings) for a new headboard appeared on my doorstep.Yep, I like this.
