I’ve owned several of these over the past 6 or 7 years. Not perfect. Gets the job done - for me anyway. Be sure your phone uses Apple’s older “lightening connector” which this accommodates. It appears their newest devices have moved to a different type of connector. Worked with my older iphone 5 and current iphone 6S.Using this to mate your phone to the tiny charging probe on a regular basis can be a bit of a hassle. Other than the friction generated at the point of contact there isn’t additional support. Parking a phone on this reminds me of the old “Pin the tail on the donkey” game we played as kids where you were blindfolded while playing. It’s not easy to sit the iphone down directly on the little lightening connector that sits upright from the base of this device. Hit and miss. You’ll have to try to hit the mark more than one time very likely. Somewhat better with practice.Why buy it than? It’s a useful little stand. The adhesive pre-applied to the bottom works great on a table or desktop (without damaging the surface) the first or second time you plant it. After moving it several times, however, the adhesive doesn’t hold it in place very well. There’s a dial that adjusts the lightening connector higher or lower to accommodate the phone. The stand looks sharp sitting on your desk and makes the iphone look a lot nicer as well. You’re less likely to knock phone off the desk or burry it with other junk. And you don’t end up having to hunt for a charging cord every time. Sturdy enough to hold the phone. It’s best to support it with one hand if typing on the screen, as the anchor to the stand isn’t very firm. To me, all this makes the hassle of parking the phone once or twice daily worth it.
